A gem.

My dad is the kind of guy who mows my lawn for me on Father's Day. What a gem!

Discount Wisdom

St. Paul Farmer's Market
"I'm going to give you a discount because I like your cowboy boots.
Actually, it's cowboys that I really like, if you know what I mean.
Mmmmhmm, I tell ya--there's nothing better than a man with a rifle."

The beginning. {Again.}

It has been months and months since the last time I posted, but I never stopped taking notes. This blog has been with me for almost ten years and has changed countless times over that decade.

I'm not sure why I stopped posting last fall--burned out? Too busy? Don't know.

I really didn't stop taking notes, though--
in an app on my phone,
scraps of paper at my desk,
toward the back of my mind as I fall asleep (those never survive the night).

But none of them ever seemed polished enough to blog.

Today I remembered that I've always called this my place to capture "life's post-it notes" and I don't think I've ever seen a polished post-it note. It's just a little square to jog your mind later or to catch a thought before another one pushes it aside.

So, without worrying about polish, I'm going to start blogging again. Sometimes it might be a few words, others maybe just a silly picture, and maybe once in a while long, boring, stream-of-consciousness writing.

Stick with me if you can, read if you'd like, and we'll see what happens.
